Gidi gidi seed is a red berry that can be picked for food or used in jewellery. It is poisonous so needs to be washed for a long time before being used. This work depicts the seed being laid out in rows, being sorted and prepared before being turned into necklaces. We used to make these necklaces from shells and seeds to sell back to the Mission house to buy food.
